Based in the inner north streets of Brunswick, the Sporting Club Hotel, established in 1896, underwent a complete reinstatement to unveil the beauty of its past while contemporising its usability, versatility, and visitor experience. The end result delivers a venue that celebrates Australian pub splendor and its roots within the community.

  • Stripped back to its shell, retaining only the original footprint and its heritage features, the venue then underwent a generous transformation. Working with the skilled team at Studio Co & Co, who designed its unique spaces that exude detail, including a circular front bar, spacious rear dining room, private dining areas, and an external beer garden and additional outdoor bar. Warm, tonal, and inviting, the design employs rich timbers and materials to achieve an authentic feel from its yesteryears.

A thorough and thoughtful construction process, aimed at celebrating authenticity, tapped into the teams traditional and artisanal carpentry skills to create custom-made joinery, wall detailing, bespoke bar elements, and lighting fixtures.
